Better Burger is a restaurant in Auckland, with the sole mission of making the best burgers in New Zealand. They have a simple menu doing one thing well – “Proudly selling the best burgers in Auckland and New Zealand”. The branding was done by a small design firm from Aukland called 485 Design.

We felt the name said exactly who they are and what they do and the design needed to compliment this.
The idea was then to take this simple – yet ballsy concept and tell a great, up-front story. The name said
exactly who they are and what they do and the design needed to compliment this.
The Better Burger ethos of making things fresh from scratch was applied to their look and feel —
nothing to hide. The hand drawn type and illustrations emphasise the journey of the ingredients and reinforce
the philosophy of making things better by hand. Better Burger takes the large fast food chains on at their
own game by offering better burgers for the same price. The look was carried into to all of their environmental
graphics to create signage that is simple, fresh, and still communicates the brand promise.
The result was an easily identifiable brand that promises, and delivers a simple, better burger.
Better Burger have since opened a second restaurant due to the demand, and are devleloping
more restaurants in the near future.
